The ignorance…
When they get a White History Month, what the fuck are we gonna talk about?? All the same shit we’ve BEEN talking about forever in all the other damn months?? Are we gonna be learning some new shit about the dominant culture? Please. Explain it to me?
My problem with “Black History Month” is that it merely enforces the notion that we should regard black Americans as separate from white Americans. The history of the black citizens of our country should be incorporated into just plain American history. It should be taught alongside everything else, not isolated to a separate month. But a special month is how they get around doing that. We don’t have a big Asian history month or Hispanic history month. (And honestly, if we really do and I don’t know about it, it’s just proving my point further because it does no good if people aren’t even aware of it.) African American history IS American history. They should be taught simultaneously throughout the year with everything else, and there shouldn’t be a special month for it. Either we all deserve to be equal or we don’t.
This month is Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month. Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month is between September and October. On top of that there are various months dedicated to white ethnicity such as Irish American Heritage Month in March and Scottish American Heritage Month that took place last month. And I believe Russian American Heritage Month will take place next month.
The point is, these commemorative months exists, the only reason why Black History Month is well-known is because it had a 50+ head start.
Well what good is it doing if no one knows about the other months? And again, why not just teach such history simultaneously with regular history courses?

Also, I’d like to point out, there is no such thing as “reverse racism”. Racism is not just white vs black. It’s any race. Black, white, hispanic, asian, native indian, anything. -.-’ There should either be months for EACH race… or there should be none at all and we can just learn all about other cultures in our history class. I’d like that. It would be much more interesting.
All I thought seeing this is “Oh God” but it further proves the point, honestly, that racism isn’t even adequately taught in schools. Because, as stated before, there is no such thing as reverse racism, but unfortunately, people do not understand why.
Racism is the oppression of a particular group of people, in this case, because of race. White people are not oppressed. Whites can, however, get discriminated against. This is not even discrimination, however.
I’m going to devote a special portion of my life to hunting down people who so slanderously disregard the teachings of typography. I’m going to ruin them all with firmly worded letters.

Girl I hate when this happens to me …
Today my mom wasn’t home, so my eight year old sister asked me to set some words for her so she could write her daily sentences. I knew she did them every day, but I’ve never bothered to read them before.
My sister is a lot of things. She’s extremely smart, fairly quiet, and absolutely hilarious. But today I learned two new things about her:
a) my sister does not have a way with the written word
b) my sister is addicted to crack cocaine
I don’t know what the fuck she’s smoking but I want in on it sweet baby jesus I did not know what to do with myself while I was reading some of these
